Getting guide the right fit is crucial for your kilt. Please take the time to measure carefully using a tailor's measuring tape (not a metal one). We recommend having a "Trusty Assistant" help you with the measurements.
Important: Do not use your pants measurements!
Kilt sizes are different from jeans sizes. For example, if you wear a size 34 in jeans, you might need a size 36 or 38 in a kilt.
Okay, here we go! Please check the video below.

1.
Waist - Blue Line
Measure where you will wear the kilt. This can be at your natural waist (above your belly button), or lower on your hips if you prefer a low-rise look. The measurement should be snug but not tight.
2.
Hip - Red Line
Measure the widest part of your backside. Stand against a wall to help you find the widest point.
3.
Distance between Waist and Hip
Measure the distance between your waist and hip measurements. This measurement is important for the kilt's pleats to sit correctly.
4.
Kilt Length - Green Line
Measure from where you will wear the kilt (waist or hips) down to where you want the kilt to fall. Traditionally, kilts fall roughly at the knee. You can choose a traditional length or a lower, more modern look.
This is a classic black plain jacket decorated with a generous amount of silverware on the front of the jacket near the rib area. More silverware is styled onto the forearm area of the jacket to give it a traditional look.

Sizing/Measuring
For those people who have an even size such as 30, 32, or 36, then it is recommended to order that exact size. However for those who fall in between it is more suitable to go for one size bigger, which will give a comfortable fit. If you prefer a tighter fit you could always go for one size smaller. A few kilts have a tapered slim fit, for those, it is recommended to go for the exact size or bigger size as the fit is slightly tighter than regular. (Kilt Measuring Guide)
